I am proud to announce that the first issue of my ezine is available through lulu.com and Amazon.com:

Destiny has a wicked sense of humor, laughing at the twists and turns that lead to the final destination and Luck is a fickle mistress, tempting with success, only to throw obstacles onto the path. Journey through the unique tales of circumstance offered in the first issue of our ezine, where the outcome is uncertain and Fate decides the “Consequences.”

Fibromyalgia and Exercise

Sometimes I really think getting healthy is going to kill me! I didn’t get to walk much the first half of January because it was either too cold or raining. I tried walking in the cold and ended up with a sore throat for a week, so thought it best not to do that anymore. I did do the Wii and walk at the mall some, but it doesn’t seemed to have mattered.

With fibromyalgia, I’ve found you have to keep up exercise pretty regularly or it’s like starting completely over from scratch. I was reminded of this again yesterday.

I started back walking Monday. I did 2.86 miles, which is a good walk for me. My legs, knees and hips hurt from the fibro and arthritis, but not too bad. That day. Yesterday was a different story. After my walk yesterday, I couldn’t even sit without hurting!

The muscles in my legs, stomach and back hurt something fierce! Even the muscles in my neck are sore to the touch. Fibromyalgia is an awful condition to live with. You never know what the day is going to hold until you start it!

Facebook

I'm really enjoying facebook. I didn't know if I would, and resisted signing up even though friends told me it was fun, but now hardly go a day without seeing what's going on with my facebook friends.

It really is cool that you can find people you went to school with. They may not remember me, but we are getting reaquainted. I also love staying in touch with my writing friends and even some family members.

If you haven't signed up with Facebook yet, you should. There are even games to play for those so inclined. If you do join, send me a friend invite!

Zazzle Store

I opened a zazzle store yesterday. I’ve really liked having my cafepress store, and since zazzle is on the same lines, I thought I’d try them out. I love that I can add more color and everything to the look of my store! Just hope I make some sales there like I do on cafepress.

Go visit Art by Angel and tell me what you think. I even have a few Valentine’s things on there! If any of you have a zazzle store, leave me the link in a comment so I can check it out.

Happy New Year

I hope y’all had a wonderful 2009 and are looking forward to 2010. I accomplished some things I set out to do this year and didn’t others. Overall, it was ok.

I managed to lose 21 pounds, which is great for me! I walked my first 10k and had some of my fiction published, which makes me very happy and proud! We also managed to dwindle our debt down a small percentage, which will help us a great deal!

I have plans to lose another 25 pounds in 2010, walk 1001 miles, and pay debts down even more. I believe I can accomplish all of these goals or at least get pretty close.
What are your goals for the new year?

Haiku

Do you write Haiku poetry? I've only dabbled in it once or twice. I recently did one for a contest on Associated Content. I didn't win, but people seemed to enjoy the little poem.

I do find the art of Haiku interesting. If you've writtin some, leave me a link so I can check them out. You can go here to see mine.

My Dad's Birthday

Today would have been my dad's 62nd birthday. He passed away almost two years ago now and I still miss him so much. I wish we'd had alot more birthday's with him. I miss his laugh and sense of humor, singing karaoke with him, and the good times we had. If you still have both parents with you, give them a hug and tell them how much you love them for me today!

Ovarian Cysts

I’m going through my first bout of ovarian cysts. I’m sure glad I never had any before and hope to never have any again!

I went to the doctor yesterday after almost a month of pain and other symptoms. Of course, I was scared to death I had ovarian cancer because the symptoms are almost the same. I also have this severe fear of getting cancer because it runs in my family.

Thankfully, the doctor said they are textbook cysts and will go away on their own within 10 to 14 days. I was so relieved to hear this! Now all I have to worry about is that the bigger one on the left side ruptures before it can dissolve. We’ll just hope that doesn’t happen!

Any of y’all dealt with ovarian cysts?

Doubting Your Talent

I recently placed 2nd in another short story contest. That makes twice I have placed second and twice for third. I also have some poems that will be in anthologies and have had a poem and flash fiction piece published with an online publication.

Even with all this, I still sometimes wonder if I’m good enough. Mainly because most everything I’ve placed in is with the same place. I was happy to get the poem and story accepted by the other place, because it meant someone else liked my work.

I have submitted to other publications, but only received rejections. I am not giving up though, I keep sending stuff in. I do believe I can write an entertaining story. People read my serial blog: Night Stalker, and give me good feedback. I actually have 14 followers for that blog. And people tell me my stories are good. It took me a while, but now I believe it. I just wish I could have something published by a different place that pays well.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with my success and thankful for the opportunity to be published in the Accentuate Anthologies, I just want to know other people like me work also. Does this make any sense?

How many places have you been published? How many did it take before you fully believed in your talent?

How to Be the Best Parent You Can Be

Being a parent is the most important job in the world. It is full-time and never ending. Different aspects are involved to be the best parent you can be to your child, depending on the changes that happen during the stages of life, but there are some constants no matter the age of a child.

Unconditional love is the most important thing a parent can offer a child. Parents do not always have to agree with choices their children make, but should still love them and be there whenever possible. It is ok to try to lead children onto a certain path in life, but if they take a different direction, parents should see what that road has to offer.
